    Stupid question----

Just wondering what would happen if I put extra 'data' folders onto a dvd-video?
would the video still play in standalones?
I assume it would be non-stsadard.
Has anyone tried this ? what results?

Someone :c) asked that before and someone :c) replied that it would not effect the play at all as long as extra files were completely separate from The Video_TS & Audio_TS folders.

    Never tried it myself... yet.

Maybe you can find the original thread.

NO paypal! I hate paypal!, personal checks (oops! cheques) or money (oops postal) orders only.

Good luck with your project. :c)

You may not have noticed that many commercial DVDs
have the Intervideo DVDplayer installation on them, and
I have seen several with kid games on them . (Ice Age)
It's pretty clear that it doesn't matter IF you leave VIDEO_TS
    alone.

There is a guy here that always puts an info file about how he
generated the movie, along with a picture file of the Jacket cover .

I wish I did that, It would be good for verifying what method/program
looked the best. I sure as hell can't remember what I did yesteday

Foo - that is a really good idea. I am going to do that with my very next one. I have little scraps of notes all over as I'm working, but darned if I can match them up to anything later.

    Thanks for the tip! :c)

I think it's an excellent idea. I wish I'd thought of it.

I write my info in a notebook.
But yes, just make a ROM folder and dump everything in there.

I always put the editing and authoring files on the disc, as well as the cover art. That way if I keep the DV tape, I can go from start to finish with no rework. I can also make extra copies of the disc and reprint the cover. If there's extra room, why not? I usually put them in an extras folder, but I don't think it's a problem to put files in the root dir.

Since the file format isn't joilet, just zip up the files and give them a good short filename.

That's a good idea, though, of including your encoding details. I usually just start from scratch every time because I forgot how what I discovered last time
