    DirectShow partially succeeded to play file. The actual text of the error or warning is:

    0x00040242: VFW_S_PARTIAL_RENDER - Some of the streams in this movie are in an unsupported format.

    The following combination of filters were used:

    {C:\Documents and Sett..-..ogus Yourney Xvid.avi} (Video Source)
    {AVI Splitter} (Video Splitter)
    {XviD MPEG-4 Video Decoder} (Video Decoder)
    {Video Renderer} (Video Renderer)

    any suggestions what to do?

    Get Gspot from the Tools section and test your file. What does it say under video? Is the codec installed?

    does it say "ac3 (0x2000) "Dolby Laboratories, Inc"?if so, here you go http://www.glasso.dk/ac3.htm

  4. yeah the audio codec is installed:

    Audio Format:
    Code: 0x2000
    Name: WAVE_FORMAT_AC3
    Vendor: Dolby Laboratories, Inc

    The following codec should be capable of processing this format:

    {Nero Digital Audio Decoder}

    DirectShow was also able to find a codec to render it - the sound for this media clip should work fine.

    See the DirectShow Render details for more info. ?

    and i checked the render and there it said that it was an unsopported format?
