  1. I convert with TMPEnc with tooLame as the audio converter. Normally, this works fine, but lately, for some reason, the audio is very screwy. It comes out low quality with high bass and weird treble and very high pitched. I tried using TMPEnc's regular sound converter, same thing happened. Same with using either converter after using VirtualDub to make a .wav file. It seems that anything that goes through TMPEnc gets screwed up sound. How do I fix this?

  2. What are you trying to burn? A DVD, VCD, SVCD, etc?

What you are probably seeing is an audio sampling incompatibility.

If you are capturing from DV, the sound will be sampled at 48kHz, VCD and SVCD require 44.1kHz sampling and TMPGEnc does a very bad job of conversion.

If you are capturing audio with a sound card, make sure you are sampling at 44.1kHz.

  3. If the problem is sampling rate, use SSRC along with tooLame as the audio engine in TMPGEnc.

    cheers,
