I am currently using ulead mf2 to do my dvd's. After adding 2 video files I have proceeded to add audio to replace the current audio in one of the files. The music I am adding to the file is mp3. I have added it to not only the title page but also all the scenes. The one thing I noticed is that the size of the project did not change. During the review phase all goes well.
I then begin the output process. Agian all goes well( although it takes a while). When the process reaches the VOB it stops and says that I do not have enough disk space. It says to either cancel or replace with a new disk and retry. I do this and the same thing happens.
The question is why? Also, is it posssible that the music I am adding is too much even though the project says I have enough space on the disk before I start the output phase.
Thanks
Tim

As you know, a typical DVD-R's capacity is 4.37gb as Pioneer explains here...
http://www.pioneeraus.com.au/multimedia/dvd/dvr-s201_capacity_ver.htm
Are you importing files that haven't yet been converted to DVD-ready MPEG?
Or have you prepared the files before importing them?
That latter is the workflow I prefer because it eliminates the guesswork.
If I'm working with MPEGs recorded by my Panasonic VDR-M30, I'll feed Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 files with these attributes:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 704 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order B
(DVD-NTSC), 4 : 3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8800 kbps)
Audio data rate: 256 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo
In a case like this, I'll simply set Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2's project settings to precisely *match* and no re-encoding occurs.
On the other hand, if I wish to convert DV .avi material, my SOURCE file propertes might look like these...
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order A
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
DV Audio -- NTSC, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
...and I might set Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2's project settings as follows:
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Field Order A
(DVD-NTSC), 4:3
Video data rate: 8264 kbps
LPCM Audio, 48 KHz, Stereo
I don't run into file size estimate issues.
How do the properties of your SOURCE files compare?
How are your project settings adjusted?

I just noticed that Ulead has posted a revised update patch, which is available FREE at the following link:
