  1. Everytime I start TMPGenc up, no matter which version, I get an error - write error occurred at 77f67f26 of module ntdll.dll with 00000000, I have tried a clean installation of Windows XP Pro, I have checked the memory etc, that checks out ok. I can run through a full encode using CCE but since the resolution of the sources that I using are never a DVD standard size I can't put them into an authoring program.
    Any-one got any ideas?

  3. Most of the stuff is avi files from videos etc, wedding, video's I own. Things like that.
I can get TMPGenc to convert them to MPEG2 very rarely.

Read up on Frameserving. You can open your video
in VirtualDub . resize it , and feed that directly to
CCE or TMPGenc without an intermediate file.

Avisynth will also do that but it's a little strange if you aren't
    a programmer type.

  5. Many thanks for the replies, I am resizing one now with Virtualduz, I would love to know why TMPGenc is playing up though. I'll have to try CCE after resizing.

Did you do the Frameserving thing ?

or are you just using VirtualDub only ? That means you will
have an intermediate file which is either way too big or compressed
    with some loss of quality.

The thing to do is feed the uncompressed output of VirtualDub
directly (without a file) to TMPGenc or CCE. Has lots of advantages like that.
