  1. Hi

My system seesm to be really slow when it comes to encoding video using DVD2SVCD and CCE. The specs are as follows.

    P3 1GHz
    638mb ram
    120gb 7200rpm HDD
    Windows XP

I have my encoding settings set to 6 pass VBR and get an encoding speed of 0.3. CCE estimates it will take 54hrs which seems a bit slow for my system. Anyone know what might be wrong ?

    Thanks

:c) You can do as many passes as you like - or your mate :c)

I only meant it has to take as long as it would take for one time x 6, so you can expect it to take ages.

    Good luck.

Hope it's a good mate! :cD

  5. I am using a Celeron 1200 and getting a CCE speed of about .60

I use a 1-pass VBR using Tylo's D2Sroba plugin which samples the movie and determines the Q value for CCE to fit the number of CD's I specify.

CHeck it out over at forum.doom9.org

6 pass is overkill. CCE's 1-pass VBR (done correctly) gives awesome quality.

  6. 8) 6-pass ? and you say hes a "friend" ....hmmmm 8) 3pass is enough, he wont know the difference.. dont tell him!

  7. 6-pass is really too much... 3-4 pass is enough for multipass. One Pass VBR is the best method IMHO for CCE. Try that method and your friend will be happy and you will save lots of encoding time.

If the D2Sroba plugin wont work then you can do it manually:
