What format are you trying to write to ?
If it's -R, I would guess the tracking assembly can not focus on the pre-groove etched onto the DVD-R that provides the timing and tracking information. If it can't find this, the burn will literally be all over the place, assuming it burns at all.
Try a different brand of media or format and see if the problem goes away - you might find it's terminal media failure due to a manufacturing defect , in which case expect a nice juicy refund to come your way. -
I've just got a dvd writer recently and writte my first dvd-r with it. At the end of the burn I got this 'No seek complete' error.
However, I seem to be able to access the disc and play tracks off it fine (I simply did a DVD ISO with a bunch of mp3 directories on it).
I used Bulkpaq media (4x) which I've read in reviews on here works fine with my writer (Plextor 708A).
Any advice? I can't really afford dvd-r coasters! But as I say, the strange thing is the disk, at least, seems ok.... probably won't work in anyone else's writer, but... hm...?!
