  1. I want to convert my xVCD (720x480, 2500bitrate) .DAT files to a DVD-ready mpeg2 file (720x480, 8000bitrate).

    I started using SVCD2DVD, but I think it may be the wrong tool. I don't want to trick the DVD to accept the former xVCD mpeg file. Instead, I want to convert it into a proper mpeg2 file as if I was converting from AVI to DVD-quality mpeg2.

    Am I mistaken about SVCD2DVD? Is that exactly the tool I should be using? Or is there something else that I should use.

    Thanks!

    In your own case you need to reencode the video. This is something SVCD2DVD doesn't do. You need a mpeg encoder - Mainconcept 1.4 is my personal choice but TMPGEnc or CCE etc will also do the job
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.

  3. Thanks for the replt. Okay, so I'll use TmpgENC to convert my xVCD mpeg-1 files to DVD-ready mpeg-2 files.

    I've been looking for a tutorial on how to do that but can't find one. Is one available?

    Thanks!
