  1. I hope this post is in the right place, sorry if it isn't.

I have downloaded an movie which is in three parts. I have encoded them seperately with TMPGenc and then authored them with TMPGenc DVD Author. If I burn one and put it on a DVD it is works fine, if I burn them together they don't work.

    What am I doing wrong.

    Thanks

  2. What do you mean by "It won't work" What part does not work? Does it only play the first video in a player? Will TMPGEnc DVD Author not author the disk? Does it fail to burn properly? Does it not play in a stand-alone?

    What do you mean "together"
do you glue them together and Author or put
3 separate files in the Author program ?

  4. If I burn one part it plays in my standalone player.

If I load them into the burning programme together, it burns but does not play in my standalone player.

You need to define clearly what doesnt "work". Does it play on your computer, or are you having problems with your standalone? Judging from what you said, the only thing I can recommend is joining them after encoding using tmpgenc and then put it through the authoring process.

  6. I put three separate files in the authoring programme. They do not play in my standalone.

If I put one file in the authoring programme and burn it, it plays in my standalone.

They will all play in my standalone if I burn them to three seperate dvd's.

I understand that part from your original post. Do they work on your computer?? Try burning the file on one dvd and play it using windvd or powerdvd. If they work on those, then I'd say you have a problem w/ your standalone. If they dont, then come back here.

  8. I have burnt the file to one dvd but it does not play on my computer. Power DVD says "unknown format".

There's your problem. Did you try to add all the mpg's using tmpgenc?

  10. Sorry, I am not sure what you mean. I used tmpgenc to encode them seperately from avi's into dvd format, then used tmpgenc dvd author on them each and then tried to burn them.

  11. It's okay, I figured it out and made it all work on my standalone.

Thanks anyway for trying to help.
