  1. Whats the best DVD burner for Burning and Copying DVDs? I dont think I need the DVD-RAM that the LG has... So im thinking the Lite-On LDW-411S or the Sony DRU510A. The quality and ability to easily copy protected DVDs is more important than having 4x burning, 2x is ok. and Id like DVD-, DVD+ R/RW of course.

So let me know Which will be the best quality and copy the easiest thanks guys!

Lite-On means never having to say "dammit I can't copy that protected video game".

Sony means never having to say "I spent my money well"... 'cuz they SUCK. (You can flame me, but 50% of people have issues with Sony - they have TERRIBLE quality control).

Pioneer means following the trend. Good burners, but their ability to deal with protected CD media is nil.

  4. So the Lite-On copies games well which i know.
but dont DVDs have copy Protections too? Would the same be true for Lite-on copying protected DVDs as well as Games?
So far Im leaning toward the Lite-on. I own a Lite-on CD-RW and love it, No coasters, copies every time.

Anyone know where to find the LDW-411S the cheapest?

    Thanks again!

No, you can't copy the CSS on a DVD. You have to deprotect it. So when copying DVD's, any reasonable-quality burner is the same as any other.

  6. Well, I like my Optorite DD0203 4X ±, and I am running firmware 2.17
No coasters yet, but I only use TDK-R and TDK+R media. I stay away
    from the cheap stuff.

  8. I like the Optorite dd0203. Cheap, burn fast, and all format. Did not get any coaster yet, and I am using a cheap DVD-R ( unbrand name, only .95 each). It is a good one for me.

  10. you can buy ldw-411s (4X DVD±R burner) for $179 at newegg. The ldw-401s(4x DVD+R burner) is now $109. I just bought a second one cuz I found it at dell.com for $105 (free shipping, no tax). Let's see if it takes Dell 6 months to ship it.
