    you can do a lot with vegas -- here is a sample of some such effects (i did) edited in HD and down sized for web (though still a right click and save from the downlink on that site -- not streaming) .. everything was done in vegas ...

    Vegas is pretty expensive, so I don't think I'll try it. That is exactly what I ended up doing, Tommy, with VS 7 SE and vdub. But it is really difficult to get the pan and zoom to do what I want in Vdub. Is TMP any easier? I have also seen an avisynth script, but I think that is probably more difficult than Vdub.

    Well, since you have VS 7, why not use it? I find it easier than AviSynth. Click here (he said, blowing his own horn )

  4. The company that made Vegas now owned by Sony has a $100 product (? Soundblast Movie Studio) that seems very similar to UL VS7. Their cropping and pan and zoom are the best that I have seem.

    I wonder if it will work in 800x600 resolution and render back to DV AVI?
