  1. The video file i want to fade is a vob file which ends abruptly.
I want to fade the video out so that it looks more professional.

    How do i do it?

I can convert to any format but i don`t want to re-encode back to mpeg 2 and lose quality.

Is there a way of directly editing a mpeg2 file?

If so what software should i use, I don`t need any fancy transitions, just fade.

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes.
There are many different video editing programs to choose from. Do you own any yet? Many have trial versions that you can use to test results.

If you do not want to alter the original video, perhaps you could ADD an additional clip that duplicates the last frames in the existing video and have that fade to black.

No, I didn't say specifically, not knowing your preferences and budget. And I asked if you owned any at all yet. Perhaps something you have already could do it, but you haven't discovered it yet. :c)

I use Ulead Video Studio 7 for quick things like fades. You can download a trial.

But have a look in TOOLS for other similiar programs.
