An interesting study, though with the release of progressively cheaper and larger capacity flash memory storage media (e.g., for MP3 players), it begs the question as to whether encoding at 64 kbit/s in any codec is worthwhile unless for a particular purpose (e.g., for spoken word radio broadcasts).

    It's clear that QuickTime AAC performs very poor at 64kbit/s.
    On the same site you can find test results on 128kbit/s where QT comes out as the best!?
    A bit strange, so ther must be a reason for this.
