I usually have .avi files that I want to convert to VCD. I do this mainly by
1. Converting the .avi to mpeg by using TMpeg
2. Converting the .mpeg to VCD using Roxio VCD creator
However, sometimes I have other non avi formats which Tmpeg will not read. Is there another way (standard software) to get non avi formats into mpeg so I can get them tp VCD or is there a way to get non avi to avi so I can procede as above? As always, thanks for the help for a newbie....

I saw from your last post that you use VirtualDub. You might want to take a look into framserving at this point. :c)
There's a good step-by-step guide here that helped me learn to do it.

I don't know what "non avi" formats you could mean though. Try "converters" under TOOLS :c)There's no place like 127.0.0.1
The Rogue Pixel: Pixels are like elephants. Every once in a while one of them will go nuts. -
You might also want to look into seeing if you can find the codecs for TMPGEN that will read the non-avi formatted files.
