  1. Is there a way to multiplex an mp3 audio track to an existing avi using Virtualdub, without first converting the mp3 to wav format (just to have Virtualdub re-encode it back to mp3)?

I've actually multiplexed an audio track to an avi with Virtualdub before, and I could swear it was in mp3 format, and that I didn't have to convert it to wav first... unless I'm remembering it wrong...

Or is Virtualdub the wrong tool for this?

Thanks very much for your help..

  2. I don't know about Virtual Dub, but its possible to mux an mp3 into an mpg file with TMPGEnc. Could that be what you are thinking of?

I use a program called wavemp3.exe to put a wave header on mp3 files so virtualdub can add the mp3 to avi files,do a search on google for it,its freeware.

  4. I have a version of virtualdub that allows for import or muxing of mp3 files. It's called Virtualdub-mp3-freeze which , I believe, as available from the tools section of this site, or at least a link to it elsewhere
