  1. Hi , I downloaded 42 (v 1.6) and followed the install instructions to a "T". When I go to build the 42 support I get the following error message:

sh:cd:/Library/Application Support/forty-two: no such file or directory

Any suggestion on what may be happening? I downloaded a different version of forty-two as well and same thing happened...Any help for a guy new to all of this would be appreciated. Thanks

Probably this will not be the problem but:

    Check if:

    - you are not using your /User/Library/Application Support directory but the Library directory in your root.

    - that there are no strange characters in your disk or directory names.

actually, its most likely because you didnt put the FORTY TWO folder in the image into your applications support folder like it said to do in the manual.

put it in there by hand, then run the build.

no no, not into the image. There is a folder named Forty-Two within the image you mount. you must PHYSCIALLY place this folder into /library/application support.

If the folder is not there, you wont be able to build the support files for forty two. Based on what you said earlier,

sh:cd:/Library/Application Support/forty-two: no such file or directory
it looks like you dont have a folder named forty-two in the application support folder of your library.

    make since???

  6. Oh, sorry..was a little confused.

Yep, I did that too & it looked as though it was going to work, but when I now try to launch 42, it says the App is missing the necessary files to launch the program. Any ideas?

  7. okay, I figured it out...I'm a Dork. I'm still new to OS X, I didn't realize I had to hold down the "option" key to actually copy to a folder. All I was doing was creating aliases. Once I actually "copied" the support over, everything went smoothly. Thank you all for trying, if it hadn't been for your posts I wouldn't have put 2 & 2 together..Maleek
