    Due to this site's help, I have gotten so close, I can taste it.
    I captured Vhs as mpeg1, then used TMPGenc to author. I burned to dvd using Nero, but I have no sound on the movie. I appreciate any suggestions. Also, how can I record multipe VIDEO_TS files. (or multiple vhs movies to one dvd?)

    So when you play the DVD in your standalone you get no sound?If so use LPCM audio instead of MP2.
    Yes you can put several movies on one DVD by using Ulead DVD Moviefactory,Sonic MyDVD,etc.
