  1. i have been using tmpgenc for a while to encode avi to mpg.... all the sudden, some of the divx files i open up in tmpgenc do not have any audio in the tmpgenc window. yes, i have all the divx codecs installed in my puter.... any ideas? am i using wron settings or the wrong softwear?

    If the orginal file has sound, use virtualdub to extract the audio and then encode the audio separate from the video. Here's a guide that shows how. Dont know if it'll work for sure...but its worth a shot.
