I'm using a Pentium 4 1.3 GHZ processor with 256 MB ram, and a fast hard drive. I only get about 1.5 FPS while encoding. Other encoders, such as flash mpeg or TMPGENC give me around 15 FPS. Is this normal for DVDx? If I were to use a plugin with it, would it speed up? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Yes I get about the same with my Duron 800.

DVDx rips the audio and video at the same time while Flask does them seperately. This may be why there is a F/P/S difference.

Have you had any problem when burning the file? Do you use Nero?

I can burn the files fine, and the quality is absolutely amazing. The thing I can't understand is why it encodes so slowly. I use VCDImager in combo with Nero to make my menus/chapters on my SVCDs. I get about 35 min. of video on each cd, which isn't very much, but the quality is way worth it.
I'll try a plugin or something and see if that helps.

    Thanks for the reply.

Can you help me with chapters on VCD?

I have tried VCDimager and TSCV but with no success?

I think VCDimager looks easyer but it burns and play fine but no chapters?

    What settings do you use?

I use chapters, but no menus. You can use TSCV to do this. I don't like menus because the SVCDS I make only have 35 min. of video on each one anyway, so I divide it into 4 minute chunks using chapters. The guides on this site helped me out a lot. Check under the Author section under SVCDS with chapters. It has a lot that will help you out. Also, it might be that your DVD player just doesn't support chapters. I use the Pioneer 434. It works great with everything I've thrown at it.
