  1. hi

ive just started making my own vcd's from avi div-x files i get off the internet etc...i used a link from this website to help me get started which has been very useful, and i successfully burnt off my first vcd the other day..no probs...the pic is good, and the audio is in sync with the picture aswell...it plays back very well on my dvd plyer....

however when i played the disc i noticed the audio (especially the music on the film) was quite distorted, even though the original avi file on my pc is not.....i used virtual dub,TMPGenc and then nero 5.1 finally to burn it off as vcd...i followed the steps exactly that the steps said.....can anyone tell me why i might be getting distorted audio and if there is a way to correct it

the link on this site to the help page i used is
    https://www.videohelp.com/divxtovcd.htm

ps one thing i did do that was different to the step by step guide was when i changed the sampling rate of the audio to 44.1khz i also changed the bitrate depth to 16bit....should i have kept it at 8 bit....can that make a difference?

    cheers every1
