It would help some if you would supply some details of
what you are trying to do with what files

  3. I started with a xvid .avi file and want to get it on a DVD. I have extracted the sound then used TMPGEnc to make an mpg file then tried to author it in Movie factory and burn it on the DVD. All fine until I get to the Movie factory file it comes up with an error some where near the end of authoring. I have checked the file and found to be OK.
Is there an easier way getting form xvid to DVD?

It just occurred to me that MF2 appears to be trying to CONVERT the file.
Why would it do that if its already compliant ?
What are the encoding settings ?
    720 x 480 MPEG2 4000 kbps MP2 audio 48000 s/s ?

Have you set "do not convert compliant files" ?

How long does it take to get the error ?

What are the exact properties of the MPEG file?

For example, my Panasonic MPEG files have the following specific properties:

    NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
    MPEG files
    24 Bits, 704 x 480, 29.97 fps
    Field Order B
    (DVD-NTSC), 4 : 3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8800 kbps)
    Audio data rate: 256 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo

How do the properties of your SOURCE MPEG compare?

  9. I just noticed Ulead has posted a new update patch at the following link...

    http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf_ftp.htm

    It's a free download.

    Hope this helps,
