Thnx to a brilliant vcd engineer Paco Moreno, I can now play audio vcd's on my 5yo DVD player (Phillips 711). It doesn't have Mp3 capabillity like the newer versions, so I've been chasing something like this for a while.
I actually took the time to read the whole thing, and can now also make menu's with Nero. (sometimes I wonder about myself?)
But the Audio VCD thing has reduced my CD shelves to a CD shelf (gotta love spare room)
Am willing to go into more detail if anyone's interested, but I just had to come here and say a big thnx to the legends who work this stuff out!!!
My hat's off to you guy's/gal's whomever you are!

  2. Hi Montbursny,

I am glad because you find useful my Audio VCD guides. At least it was not a silly work, for you and me.

At present I am involved in a similar project but based on DVD. I want to use switchable subtitles for displaying information about each playing song (for example, singer, song name, ...). But only when requested. This is in order to avoid TV set tube burning (for me it is not the same listening to music that watching a video clip).

Do you know about simple (and cheap) DVD authoring programs that support switchable subtitles? Advices are welcome.

    Paco Moreno

Sorry Paco, I'm only into vcd stuff (until I get a DVD burner), but I will keep an eye out for any info. on what you requested.
I too prefer to watch the music clips, but I sometimes have work to do and enjoy listening to my collection of cd's, but as I said, my DVD player aint MP3 compatable, so A-VCD is the next best thing. (time consuming, but worth it)

Good luck with your challenge that lies ahead, and I will keep you posted of anything I come across related to your needs.

    Once again, thnx heaps.
    Burnsy.
