I'm saving my emails in a seperate folder in dbx format. At the moment I read them with "MAILNAVIGATOR" but this is a shareware. Does anyone know of a good free program? Thanks

Outlook Express will read *.dbx (it makes them) If of course that program you were using uses the same format.

Good Hmmmmmm : NO - Free : Yes

Do a search using *.dbx to find where the files are stored. (If using IE you most likely have a copy of Outlook Express on your computer)

Holistic........I'm saving my emails from Outlook express in a seperate folder (not in O.E.) then whenever I need to search for an old email I launch MAILNAVIGATOR which can read the dbx files. I'm not sure it would be easy to dump them all back in O.E to do a search. MAILNAVIGATOR does a good job, but when the 30 days run out I have to buy ( and my Aussie dollar is not like the US$ ) so I am looking for something else.

ROUNDABOUT.......I have looked at dbxtract and can't figure it out.

Here's another one you can take a look at: http://uruds.gateway.bg/zeos/
Look toward the bottom of the page for the MS DBX reader v.1.2 .zip - maybe this one will be more to your liking. It's free, one of your requisites. Hope this helps.

Great, glad that helped. It didn't look too complicated when I checked it out, on the other hand I didn't try to use it, either! 8)

The problem I had with it was because I had the setting "compact folders in background" ticked. After I unticked it I found it worked ok.
