  1. I recently purchased a Sony DRU-510A burner to try to back up some of my kids movies. I used Dvd-decrypter to rip them on my HDD and then IFOedit to get just the content i wanted. These files seem to be in good shape at this point. Then i used IC7 to burn them. The process seems to go along fine, without any error messages. When I play the movie back, it seems to hesitate once in a while... like it skipped some frames or something. This happens every 15 to 30 minutes in the movie and they seem to be random. Out of curiousity, I dl'ed the trial version of DVD xcopy express to try to find out if it is my system or the software. So far it copied two movies with out any problems, so I am thinking it may be in the IC7 software or something I am doing. Can anyone help me track down where the problem is? I would like to use the IC7 if possible, because I am too cheap to go spend the money on xcopy express if i dont need to.

Dont know if my system specs will show thru so here they are:

    Windows XP home SP1
    P4 2.53Mhz chip on Asus P4S8X mobo (not OC'ed...currently)
    (2) Maxtor 60 GB ata 133 HDD in Raid 0
512 MB of Geil platinum PC3500
    Sony DRU-510A dual format burner

I am a total noob to this so I would appreciate some in depth replies so I can understand this better..... Thank you in advance guys.

  2. What kind of media are you using? The only problem i've ever had with skipped frames was with cheap media.

Don't use IC7 to burn. This is where your mistake is.

Once your files come out of IFOedit. Download IMGtools to create an image file of your VIDEO_TS folder and then burn with decrypter. (Mode>ISO>write)

You should also invest in some RitekG04 media, they are the best for the price.
