    HI
    I have problems copying a region 2 ntsc dvd to a region free or region1 dvd-r media.
    I have tried clone dvd (with anydvd), dvdxcopy and nero6, did not work
    I tried ripping (smart ripper) and authoring with tmpgenc dvd author, files were illegal format.
    Does anybody have a trick up his or hers sleeve?

    There's something screwy going on there - how the hell did you manage to rip a movie into an "Illegal Format" ?

    Sounds like you've fallen at the very first hurdle, there - bad luck...
