    Anyone have any experiance with these units. Are they worth the extra cost over a consumer SVHS VCR + mini DV camera combo

    The JVC SR-VS30U has a firewire output that makes it very easy to copy VHS tapes to your hard drive. Also, Your DV camera "pass thru" function does not have a Time Base Corrector and digital color processing circuits
    built in. The TBC alone increases your video quality 100%. You add the
    digital color correction and noise reduction/enhance and it makes it
    worth it definitely!
