nec 1300a and latest 1.07v2 firmware.
i tried nero 6.0.0.11 didn't work too well on dvd -rw
using roxio easy cd/dvd creator 6. latest updates. Works ok on both
dvd-rw and dvd-r.
But when I want to burn data to dvd-r It says selected speed 4x actual write speed 1x. So I can never burn to dvd-r at 4x
I am using princo 1x-4x 25 pack White top label, Blue bottoms.
And my ripping speeds are on average 1.3x Slow.
any ideas guys?

Yes, don't use princo. They are junk. Use Ritek disks.
For ripping use a DVD-ROM drive, most burners are locked at 2X read speed and make terrible rippers."Terminated!" :firing: -
Nec 1300 is a great ripper if youre using hacked firmware by Herrie, I hit 9X on pressed discs easy.
For some odd reason Nero 5.X doesn't like my NEC drive, I'd recommend you try DiscJuggler, Recordnow Max or other recording software for recording your discs. Your Princos should burn at 4x provided you're using different recording software and have the hacked firmware - Princo codes aren't supported by NEC directly from my experience, thats why you need the hacked firmware.
Works great for me
