I just spent the whole day testing my brand new Panasonic DMR-E50, and there seems to be a major lipsync problem. I discovered this instantly when I turned the unit on. It's noticeable both when I'm watching live using the tuner, and on the recordings I have made on DVD-RAM.
I have connected a digital satellite receiver to it, and use RGB via the scart connection AV2. The TV is connected to the AV1 scart and use RGB signals. The digital audio output is connected to my surround receiver.
I also have the sat. receiver connected to a VCR, for verifying my results.
The VCR recordings are fine, while the Panny recordings are clearly out of sync.
Does anybody else have this problem?
I know that the HS2 model has been reported to have these lipsync problems too, so it might be a Panasonic problem. I also wonder if there's a firmware fix to this issue.
Anyway, I'm very disappointed, and I think I will return the unit to my dealer. It's useless in this condition.
(My TV is a 32" Panasonic 50 Hz widescreen, and I live in Norway.)
