No that's no warez because there are a ton of legal avi (and DivX/xvid) files you can d/load. Movie trailers, home videos, fan parodies (not sure if all fan parodies are legal thou), etc. etc.
File size a combination of bitrate and source runtime. The size of the source file, the quality of the source file, the resolution of the source file, the resolution of the encoded MPEG, etc. has no affect on file size.
If the bitrate used is 1150kbit/s then a 10 sec clip = 11500 kbits. Always everytime. For any given runtime there's a bitrate that will result in filling you media (CDR or DVDR). You can use a bitate calculator to find this, look to the left under Tools.
I personally like the DVDRHELP.COM bitrate calculator, simple but gets the job done. -
Something aint right. 2,000KB Bitrate 2 hour clips shouldnt be >5GB. I can fit 50 minute clips on a CD-R at higher bitrates.

Hi m8 try taking the sound off with VirtualDub then go to tmpeg and put it back together select the film then select the audio you have taken off..
-
Yes, VBR audio screws up TMPGEnc calculations for output filesize. Save the audio as uncompressed wav and use that as the audio source in TMPGEnc.

ok i give up!!!! i have found out how to split the film in half but i cant find out how to split the film from sound???any help??
thanx kev -
In virtual Dub, load the video and choose
"file > save WAV"
from the toolbaer"A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct."

Make sure you select full processing mode and no compression. You should end up with a file approx 10 MB/min
