cheers adam i suppose im struggling coz tmpgenc is so easy to use and CCE requires a bit more effort and im learning im still very much a newbie

I posted this several months ago. I understand the meaning of frames per seconds. My problem was that Maestro does not accept 23.986 or 29.97 fps with or without pulldown. It only accepts 25fps. With TMPG DVD Author everything is O.K. I still don't understand what is wrong - me or Maestro.

Does it give you any error messages? Myabe its unrelated to the framerate. Are you using NTSC compliant resolutions? For DVD they are 720x480, 704x480, 352x480, and 352x240.
23.976fps should always have pulldown applied and 29.97fps should never had pulldown applied.
