  1. I'm trying to convert a PAL Divx avi to NTSC MPEG2 using TMPG 2.5. I read in the forum that you have to do an extra step to convert the frame rate first to an NTSC avi before you can encode it to MPEG2. What is the reason for this? For audio, I understand that i have to convert the frame rate from PAL to NTSC using Besweet to avoid audio-video out of sync. But what about video alone? Can i do it directly in TMPG by setting the output stream to be 23.97 fps for video. I tried it and TMPG didn't complain. Will i have any problem playing back on my stand alone player?
    I really appreciate the help.

  2. You need to convert the audio OR the video.... If you convert the audio with besweet you need to check the option "Do not frame rate conversion"... If you want to convert the video you need to use virtualdub to convert it to 23.976 fps...
