  1. Hello folks,

I recently downloaded some avi files in the following format: DivX.5.0.3

I tried converting them to mpg with TPMGEnc, but all I got was a green screen....So....

Then I figured I needed to update my codec collection...So I downloaded the most recent divex codec which is now DivX.5.1

Still I get nothing but green screen in TPMGEnc...So I tried different conversion tools recommended on this site and got nothing better than with TPMGEnc...

Just out of curiosity I tried playing the files in Windows Media Player 9 and I couldn't view them at all...I usually got no picture and sound only.

So then I tried playing the files with the Divx player that came with the codec divx 5.1 and VOILA...!!!...I got to watch the files in "perfect" condition....

So my question regarding this problem is this....What am I doing wrong when trying to convert the files with TPMGEnc....?
Obviously the files are fine if I can watch them with the divx player....right...?

  3. I can't believe that no one has had this problem...?

I've installed all codecs that could be relevant.
I've tried re-encoding it to another codec.
    I've tried mayny converters...

...But yet...the files still play in my Divx player that came with the latest divx....

And I still can't convert the files to mpg's...?!?!?!?

    C'mon people...gimme a hand on this one....

P.S. THanks for the reply TheBigK...keep me updated on your progress...Someone here must have a "solution"...!!!

  4. Hi Marc, i've sort of got it to work, thanks to a reply to my post. I copied the divx.dll and i think it was .ag file into the tmpgenc directory. It then worked. Hope it works for you.( check which files if you look at the last posting on my post)
