Virtualdub is OK most of the time for joining AVI files, but a lot of the time I get audio sync problems after the join. Are there any good (free)alternatives, that will join AVI's with AC3 sound?

Are the FPS and Audio Rates the same? ie both 24fps/30fps and audio is 44.1kHz/48kHz? If they differ, you might want to get them the same before combining them..
