  1. Virtualdub is OK most of the time for joining AVI files, but a lot of the time I get audio sync problems after the join. Are there any good (free )alternatives, that will join AVI's with AC3 sound?

  4. Are the FPS and Audio Rates the same? ie both 24fps/30fps and audio is 44.1kHz/48kHz? If they differ, you might want to get them the same before combining them..
