  1. I imported a captured MPEG-2 file into Moviemaker and then saved it as DV-AVI, but when I play it back there is a strange little square box which actually consists of a number of smaller boxes that dances around the screen. I have tried rendering the project under different setting as well such as AVI, PAL-DVD etc still the same. However the source file itself does not have this apparition. Furthermore it only seems to affect MPEG-2 files as I have tried editing MPEG-1 and AVI files in Moviemaker and they come out fine

    Any ideas ???

  2. hey buddy looks like u're not on ur own there, I am having the same problems as u Im also using Windows Movie Maker. My movies also have squares dancing across the screen. The response is that Tmpgenc and SVCD2DVD should help solve the problems I tried them didnt work for me but it might try to work for u. Others says its completely hopeless to get them back to the way we want it. Im still hoping for the solution for those problems but there seem little point.
Anyway good luck hopes it works out and let me know if u get a result.

  3. Hey Damsel, found the answer on another forum. Check to see if you have the ELECARD pack installed, if so get rid of it. It seems that when its trial date is exceeded it puts this on any file that it is used to open. Deleted mine and now everything is clear
