You're just upset because your pet program (Nero), which you have an UNNATURAL attachment to, is proving extraordinarily inadequate for DVD Video. I don't know why you're so attached to it but it is just NOT the best program for the job.
I'm a big fan of using the right program for the right task. In another thread someone asked how to add menus back in after using DVD2SVCD to ... err ... shrink down a DVD image. I recommended that he ... not do that. There's no point in making a process more laborious than it has to be.
You may think I flame but the truth of the matter is that I cut right to the heart of things.
Nero JUST PLAIN STINKS for DVD Video. Maybe not all versions. Maybe not the way you have it set up. But if someone goes, downloads Nero, installs it, and tries to burn a DVD Video disc, there's a 25+% chance that they'll burn an unplayable disc. That's CRAPPY odds when DVD media is so darn expensive right now.
I've NEVER had Nero botch a CD. But I've had it botch MULTIPLE DVD's. That says it's an inherently unreliable program for DVD. And don't tell me it's settings, because we've both seen reports from people for whom the settings changes didn't help.
Essentially YOU are the one flogging a dead horse. I think I've been pretty honest. I use Nero exclusively (unless I have an image that is in .CCD or .CDJ format or something) for CD burning. Exclusively. And I never use it for DVD video because it's just no good for that.
Your mileage may vary, but for the rest of us Nero is a non-starter.
Maybe they've fixed it in later versions. Maybe not. I'm not going to check - I'm running low on discs and don't get paid until next week.

I'd have to agree with Gurm on this one.
I've never had nero botch a cd that was the software's fault.
But the first time i ever tried to burn a dvd, following lordsmurfs guide to a tee, it produced a dvd I can only watch in my PC.
therefore I decided to search for more "idiot proof" software.
I still love nero when burning cd's, it's just not good with dvd's.
-
now you say your not sure if nero has been fixed so how can you make a valid claim that nero 'sucks' donkey kong' if you ain't tried the newer versions?
I don't have a natural attachment with nero at all as I use different burning software also so I guess I've just used nero as an excuse to have a go at all the flamers
anyway forget nero now anyway, believe me that ain't the issue of my posts but some still think it is. My issue is the stinkin attitude of some of the a$$holes on this forum who seem to forever goad people with witty little remarks and get great pleasure out of it when it get's a response and then the rest of the pack join in. Do they really think it makes them look cool?
sometimes these a$$holes just don't realise what they post and that it might actually offend people
I respect the fact you have a vast knowledge of most things but on the odd occasion you overstep the mark but not as much as others and I guess I put you in the same group as the few others
would you like it if I had commented towards you like you did initially in this post?. I doubt it and because of your nature you would give just as good as you get but I just don't see the point of doing it in the first place
I ain't a mod but I can still say what I think (a bit like you I guess) and I respected the fact you came back and admitted you had jumped the gun in this particular thread and that respect is still there as I don't want to argue or flame with you anymore
I suppose you may have an idea of the people I am directing my posts at and I apologise if I have said anything since that has upset you and I take it all back as my last post towards you was a bit OTT as I don't want bad feelings between us
it's all in the past now so I hope we can continue browsing this forum without this unecessary shite and bad feelings
cheers

It's a big right wing conspiracy. Thats the reason you can't backup "Bowling for Columbine". They don't want the "truth" that Michael Moore has put out there for the public to see. Because we all know that gun owners and republicans are evil. Only errant spending of cash helping third world countries and denial of personal responsibility will make the world a utopia! Didn't you know? Here's one Mr. Moore might overlook:
A. The number of physicians in the US is 700,000.
B. Accidental deaths caused by physicians per year is 120,000.
C. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171. (US Dept. of Health & Human Services).
Then think about this:
A. The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000.
B. The number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups) is 1,500.
C. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188.
Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
or how about this one:

Yeah, I know your post is about backing up a movie, but after you watch it, maybe you should examine it more. Possibly even watch a real documentary like say..."Paradise Lost" or "Stevie"
Hey, I hate propaganda as much as the next bush hating liberal. I think "Bowling" matches that desciption.

Bowling for Columbine, WON an Oscar for best Documentary of the year!.
That translates into "you can fool some of the people some of the time,
but not all of the people all of the time".
Last I heard 10,000 people were killed with guns last year, your quoting
accidental deaths not actual gun related killings.
Have a nice Day!.

call me awkward but why should I stand down to these obvious persistant flamers. That's the whole reason I ain't backing down because they don't just flame with me they do it with others. If I was a flamer I would do it on the other boards I visit but I never get involved or even read as many flame posts as I do see here
This thread was dead after ddlooping's post, who brought it back????"Terminated!" :firing:

Yeah he has. The problem is that he's an ultra-liberal quasi-intellectual blowhard. The epitome of "dumb fat white trash". Sorry to say.
Every time I hear him open his mouth I am shocked by the level of his ignorance.

P.S. I do hope you find the solution to your problem though.
