I am currently having trouble playing back backups of my dvd's on an RCA RC5215P. I rip and burn the dvd's with DVDXcopy to 2 dvd's. They all play back fine in my Pioneer A06 1.5 firm. With DvdXCopy I use the nero burning program option (have noticed some dvd-r's have errors when using the DVDXCopy burning engine). The problem is when I go to playback the dvd's in my stand alone RCA. The dvd starts up for about 2 seconds then the RCA just turns off. It seems to me that the RCA turns off right before, or just during, the startup of the menu screen. Also The DVDXCopy intro (warning this is a backup.. blah blah blah) plays perfectly fine and so do the FBI warnings and all. When it starts to play the DVD content itself it starts to pixilate and freeze and then just turns off. Do I need to do something to the RCA player itself? Any help would be appreciated.
I have tried UDP burning (it works a tiny bit better, it gets about 15 seconds into the menu or movie before it shuts off), and I have used IFOEdit to make the DVD's region free (they were already region 1, same as my RCA).
BTW I have tried Fuji DVD+RW's, Verbatim DVD-RW's and DVDPro, Ritek, DVD-On, and one of two others (all -R, not +R).[/quote]
