  1. The last few VCDs I've created, when played, look great, sound great, except.... there is a squeak-chirp-pop. I don't know how to explain the sound that you hear every once in a while when viewing. Does anyone have a clue? These are files I converted from AVI to mpeg. I tried extracting the audio and not extracting the audio. I tried noise reduction. I have no idea what to do.

  2. I am not sure what the problem is, but does the sound occur in the avi and mpeg files on your computer, or is it just on the VCD?

Not sure if this will help you, but I once had a problem with clicking sounds on a audio CD. It turned out to be the drive that I was extracting the audio from. By using a different drive, the clicks went away. Are you ripping the video from something?

  3. Well,I once faced the same problem .The pops and clicks are in the original source, but they are very soft. You pay attention ,you can hear them. Somehow when the conversion took placed, they gets amplified in the final sound!!!I tried using Goldwave to correct, unfortunately with limited success. Are you getting the same fault with all your avi? Try to do a clean avi conversion.

  5. I had this problem when making a Photo VCD and inserted background music from MP3 files. When I changed my audio codec the problem disappeared.
