  1. I'm new to dvd burning. I just got my dvd burner and need some help. I downloaded dvdshrink and loaded a dvd into my burner. DVD encountered a error saying the disk is copy protectedand it was encrypted. How do I get around this? What programs should I use? After using it what do I do next?

    Thanks giro

You could do 2 things. One first try playing the movie in PowerDVD or WinDvd and then run dvdshrink and see if that works. If not then get dvddecryptor or smartripper and then rip the whole thing to the hard drive then point dvdshrink to it and hopefully it will work for you. Be advised you will need a good deal of space somewhere around 10gb to rip a full dvd.

The net is a wonderful place to waste time. You can wade through great information and garbage. But then we are only Human

  3. There are loads of guides on the left, also have a look at places like doom9.org. If you're going to use DVD Shrink then a lot of those guides will be over your head, but if you've only just found out DVD's are encrypted, then you might like to do a little homework. It's not as easy as backing up CD's, I'm afraid.

    Good luck !
