Before I begin, let me say that after 3 days of searching, Rima.com WITHOUT A DOUBT has the BEST prices for DVD-R, considering they're not on sale. Their prices are much better than other sites I've been searching. For example, they've got Ritek G04s (25 pack spindle) for $37.50. Not bad at all. And they have the Optodiscs AND Optodisc golds for 30 bux for a 25 pack spindle! Can't beat THAT.........BUT can someone tell me the difference between Optodisc and Optodisc gold? I see that they are the exact same price for a 25 pack spindle. I don't get that. Also, can someone give me a heads up on the quality of Optodisc? I'm assuming they're not the best, but I just wonder if they're decent, considering their generic status. If worse comes to worse, I'll just buy the 25 pack of Riteks for 37 bux, but if the Optodiscs are a good value for the money, I'll get those instead. Any help would be appreciated.

I think the only difference between the two are the 'Gold' disks have a gold writing surface on top. Their quality is OK, I've used them in the past. I myself, I stick to the BeAlls, which in my opinion have the best quality for the price.

You're right, their prices are good, but their shipping charges are ridiculous! If you add them up, they're not much better than other places (esp. places that offer free shipping). -

Anyhow, Optodisc has a petty good usage ratio. Out of a 50 pack you might get 5 bad discs. I have had much better results with Optos than with the unbranded that I used to get from Meritline. Note - I'm not knocking Meritline for bad media since I cannot remember what brand I bought that out of a 50 pack I got to around 25 and then every-other disc was bad. I found Optos are good, so I'll stick with them for awhile longer.

If you want to order Optodiscs, you might want to consider NewEgg. Its $49 for a 50 pack but you get free 3 day fedex shipping. -
Their shipping prices for ground shipping are excellent. I'll bet tawny is looking at overnight shipping prices.
