Does anyone know how to create a tangent line on a curve on microsoft excel?

I'm not sure if this is what you're thinking (not sure if I'm thinking the samething) but try
Click the line data series you want to smooth.
On the Format menu, click Selected Data Series, and then click the Patterns tab.
Select the Smoothed line check box.
Help with Calc -
Try right-clicking the line and selecting "Add line of best fit". This isn't a tangent line, unfortunately, but I think it's the closest Excel will give.
Do what I did during my chemistry A-level: print it off and do it with a pencil and ruler! There, job done.
If you do find a way to make Excel do it, please report it to Microsoft. An update will be issued to ensure it doesn't *ever* work again.
