  1. Hi everyone

Sorry if this question has been asked loads of times before.

Downloaded a movie (DivX) from newsgroups, and followed the guide in this forum to encode and burn it.

Used VirtualDub, TMPGEnc and then VCDEasy, but picture feeezes every 10-15 seconds or so, just slightly, but enough to put you off watching.

Works fine on PC. Also tried a few different CD brands, but both the same.

Reading on the forums it may be a bitrate problem. I selected VCD (PAL) from TMPGEnc and the below was set:
    Video-CD PAL (MPEG-1 352x288 25fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)

Had a look in the settings for TMPGEnc, but can only change the birate for SVCD. Is it worth going down this route instead.

    Cheers
    Pie

  2. If the DIVX source is fine, the problem is in your encoded file.
This problem often occur when you convert PAL video into the VCD in TMPGEnc and deals with frames per second.
I've had this problem before. What I did was I used VirtualDub to frameserve the divx into TMPGEnc and encode to VCD.

Try to use this VirtualDub frameserve guide (do not change bitrate, just frameserve it strait to TMPGEnc bec. you convert from PAL -> PAL). and that should get rid of jumpy playback.

  4. Hi

Tried frameserving it straight from virtual dub to tmpgenc, but it is still really jumpy as before.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks
