  1. i've searched the forums and the whole internet, but there's still no concrete fix to this problem (except for format + reinstall) but how did i even get this problem in the 1st place?? i've tried everything, updating patches, different versions of tmpgenc, help???!

  2. why not just use the system restore option in xp?
    you can rollback your computer to a specific date that you remember
    that your computer was fine.

    might just work.

    and you can allways change it back.

    What type of file r u converting? (xvid's r known to cause probs https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/119019.php)
    what codecs u got installed?
    Have you tried reinstalling tmpgenc?
