For a friend... In xp, capturing analog with Pinnacle Studio 8 at "best" quality, editing and rendering still in Pinnacle, and burning with Pinnacle on a Cendyne 105 (dvd-r). The disc will play on the pc (but only the Cendyne - with original firmware, - and not play on a different dvd-rom), but will not play on any stand alone player (tried several different ones). Media used is Imation and Maxell (r's, not rw's), same problem with both types of discs, and it has occurred on every disc I believe. A player will read the first second or two, and then give an error message about the disc. To avoid rendering time, the image was saved after the first failure, then burned with Nero too, same problem. I'm not sure where to even start, or how to narrow down the problem. It seems to not be the media or the player. So is it the burner, capture/edit/burning software (if the problem is with Pinnacle, I suppose the first image created would have the problem and maybe that's why Nero didn't work either), or something else. Any advice on where/how to start?
