  1. I am having a bit of a problem using VCD Imager Easy v1.0.1

I am running a dual boot system - Win98SE & Win2k. The program works like a charm under Windows98SE. However, when I load the program under Windows 2000, it says "CDrDao.exe scanbus execution failed." It will not detect my cd burner.

I have created SVCD's with no problems whatsoever while working under Windows98SE. What gives?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Perhaps CDRDAO doesn't recognise your burner.

Search for CDRDAO with Google and go to the official site for more info.

  3. That seems strange. It recognizes my burner in Win98SE.

I'll see what I find. Anyone else with any other advice would be appreciated.

  4. I think what your problem might be is missing ASPI drivers in Windows 2000 -- ASPI allows communication between CD recording software and CD recorders. I have Windows 98 and was getting the same error message, but in my case the ASPI drivers were not installed/working correctly.

Check out aspichk.exe (available at ftp://ftp.adaptec.com/software_pc/aspi/aspichk.exe) -- it is a tool from Adaptec which reports the version of the ASPI layer that is installed on your computer and makes sure it is working correctly. I was then able to use ForceAspi 1.7 (d/l'ed from doom9.org) which allowed me to install the latest ASPI drivers on my computer (works on NT, 2000, ME, 9x). Worked like a charm!

Thanks for the advice. I downloaded the tools that you indicated and you were right, they were not being properly detected. I then downloaded the appropriate software and it now works like a charm.

    Thanks again for your help!

  7. I actually get a similar problem on Windows ME. Same error. But in my case it is sporadic. Half of the time it doesn't work, and half of the time it works fine. If I can start up VCD Imager Easy without the error you got, then it works great. If I get the error, though, I can still use VCD Imager Easy, but I can't use the CDRao software to burn with. Often, it takes a reboot of my machine, and then it will work. Sometimes I just have to exit the software, start something else, and then restart VCD Imager Easy.

I'm brand new to SVCD's and I was wondering if CDRDAO came with VCD Imager Easy? Do I download both or does VCD Imager Easy have it included?
