Can someone please educate me on this subject. I'm a bootleg concert trader and on every DVD-R I receive I notice media playback defects, like image freeze for example. I want to be able to provide the people I trade with the best DVD-R clone possible. I mainly do DVD5-to-DVD-R copies so compression is not a concern for me. What is the most effective way of detecting & fixing errors BEFORE coasters? I also have the same concern when dealing with data, i.e. document files, mp3, ...etc. I have a LG GSA-4040B in an all-aluminum Firewire/USB 2.0 enclosure and Oxford 911 chipset.

BEST method for mpeg2 errors is M-probe and for dvd structure -- a high quality authoring app will tell you a lot , or D-probe (may be some others) - testing is always a good plan in a varity of players (along with high quality media)..
