    it is possible? which software can do that?
    a friend of mine have a 1hr movie in his DV camcorder and not enough HDD space....i wondered if there is a program that can convert to Divx/mpeg1/2 during the captruing...

    there are a few editing app's that will capture directly to mpeg 1/2 (not sure about divx) ulead video studio is one that springs to mind, but be warned, you need a decent setup to do it without any trouble
