  1. I have been trying to convert a DVD i have downloaded to SVCD. I have been reading some articles about the subject, and looked at the “how to” guides. But it does not seem to work. Why does it have to be 4 different programs to do one operation????? If you have an image file you want to convert there seems to be no help anywhere, and you have to use many programs to get the result you want. Why not make a “dummy” guide for converting divx/DVD/Xvid to S/x/vcd? A real one! Not all the users of this forum/ web pages are people that have time to learn to use 10 different programs to do one thing.
I have tried to use DVDtoAVI and TMPGEnc and got a mpeg file out of it, but when i tryed to burn it, I got a msg that it had to be decoded or something (nero), i tryed to burn it, 3 times, and play it on my dvd player, but there was no picture, the dvd player did not read the disk, and one time it started, but there were no picture, and no sound….
I have been reading here at the forum, at the web page, and searched the web. I can’t say that I have gained any more understanding about the case…

So…. Is there anyone here that can help me convert a DVD to SVCD in an easy way, so easy that a stupid man like me can understand it?

  2. relax
to do a dvd to vcd or svcd in the easy way use DVDx 2.0
    it even get subs
but seems that your major problem is burning the SVCD
so try VCDeasy to burn (or make the image-then use Nero to burn)
in VCDeasy you can make chapters
    it works

    REMEMBER : SVCD is a MPEG-2 file / framesize: 480x480 23,976fps for NTSC or 480x576 25fps for PAL / audio.MP2

  4. I have an image file, but it is a 4 gig file. A DVD image-file. And i want that to be a svcd file, any svcd file....
I am trying dvdx, but it seems to want IFO files, and have problems with a file named auth.dll.
The problem is that i can't get the file to be converted, and when I have belied managed to get an mpeg file, the file was decoded wrong. Nero did not want to burn it the first time, the second time nero wanted to decode it, and the third time i tried i decoded the file in Nero, and fourth i tried the other choice nero gives in the pop up where the decode recommendation was.
I have been using dvdtosvcd/avi, vcdeasy, cce, and so on… maybe I am doing something wrong…. Hmmm……I am doing something wrong…. But what?

  5. Right, I did not know that you had a dvd image file. The only way I think you will be able to get results is by burning the file to a dvd and then converting to svcd from the dvd you have created.

  6. I don't have a DVD-burner. If i had that i would burn the image-file on an DVD. disk, and watch it on my DVD player.
When i unpack the RAR files i get an image file... that is over 4 gig. I want that to be 1.3 gig, and SVCD... I think I will give up, and buy a DVD-burner before I get this crap converted……

Open the .img and extract the content with cdmage, isobuster, or virtual daeamon ( www.dvdrhelp.com/tools#other ). Then you will have have a VIDEO_TS folder with some vobs files that you can convert to VCD,SVCD or DivX as usual www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdripping (just skip the ripping part).

    hope that helps,

You probably didn't download a DVD. If you downloaded
a Divx copy of a DVD you are in breach of the forum rules.
If you whine enough maybe something will happen.

  10. Thanx people… I made it! The DVD became a SVCD… there was a easy way to do it! I can’t understand why the other guides are so much harder to follow then this one: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/167502.php
It is the best guide I have seen… I hope to see one like this for xvid to SVCD to… :P

    Again…. Thanx!
