  1. well i got a sample of 3 about a month ago... complete crap....
i then got somemore samples of the new and improved and i cant get one to burn out of 25.... im like WTF.... i notify them and they explain they accidentally shipped a bad batch.. im within driving distance from them so i rip my drive out my computer, and bring the dvd's back to them...
they test and confirm it was a bad batch....

for you guys skeptikal about this company.... theyre doing everything for customer service from what i can tell... they had stations set up where they test 100's af all media that comes through the door. they know about the issue and are working hard to fix it....

so they give me some more to test out.. now that ive had the weekend to do some decent testing i can say these matrix's are coming out pretty good.... maybe they were actually ok before, but things seem to be fine since i got this new batch, or changed my a05 to secondary master instead of slave, or because i upgraded to the new 1.33 firmware . i dont know what to give credit to, but either way they seem pretty good.

so far theres 4 discs of 25 that wouldnt burn at all.. not initialize or anyhting.. if i burn at a slower speed then they go through fine.....
everything ive burnt has been dvd movies over 4.10 Gb....
after the burn i test in the dvd player to see if it starts, then run nero dvd speed on it to check for bad sectors. suprisingly there were none... on any of them. i was shocked....
these matrix's are defenitely coming up in quality...
for the price i would recommend them, and if someone happened to get a bad batch im sure shop4tech wouldnt have a problem exchanging....

im gonna keep testing and i will post more later, but things are looking up.

This makes the second person to say that shop4tech is really trying to make things right. We'll see. I just ordered some CD's from them and requested sample DVD's too. We'll see what they send.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

  6. @hedstrosity,
I wasn't flaming you but my point is if I buy a spindle and over 10% are worthless I'll never buy that brand again(whatever the price).
I hope you get a good batch I don't want to see anyone get burned.

So , these 4X Matrix discs are about sixty cents a piece ? " this is half the price of the 4x optos, and 4x riteks... " I pay 1.13 to 1.20 dollars per unit for Verbatim , TDK , or Memorex 4X DVD+R almost any day of the week .
Keep it on the big cam !

Here is something to think about....

These guys are trying to make things good. What happens if we help them to make a good disk. Then we can buy disks at half the price of Ritek, and know that they are good disks! Is it worth a little time invested if they make good on the defective disks?

Or, they'll do what Meritline did. Once they found out Accu's were good media, they raised the price!

I just looked on their site and they are $0.89 each in packs of 100. BTW I see this site has Sky brand 4x DVD-R at $75 per 100, anyone know if these actually work on the Sony or Pioneer burners?

If they raise the price after sorting out the problems, the answer is simple. We stop buying them! The cheapest quality media wins, allways!

quality goes up... does the price to make these dvds' go up too, or do they raise the price cause now theres people who trust them?
sometimes the only way to make a better disc is to use better materials which in turn costs more money...
is this what has happened to other manufacturers in the past, or did they just get $ hungry....

these play in my stand alone panasonic dvd player and my xbox...
ill be doing more testing on other dvd players in the near future

  15. I'll post my opinion after I get my order from shop4tech.

About march I ordered 50 -r leda (princo) general disks. Everyone worked great at 1x in my Toshiba 2x sd-r5002 burner and the few players I tried them in so far. The service I considered to be good, I order disks from them and got them fast!

Yesterday morning I placed an order for 50 more ledas, 50 cases, and requested samples of media. Stated I was interested in -R disks that will burn 2x in my toshiba drive and some printables both 1x and 2x for a future order.

I'll let you know what they send me and how they work! I don't have a disk printer at the moment, but I can still burn them
Then print them when I get the printer!
