  1. I'm looking to find a good guide which explains how to add subtitles while also using TMPGEnc .... if anyone knows one, let me know.

The reason being is that in DVD2SVCD, The first few seconds of whatever I am encoding do not seem to appear for some reason, and I don't know why they are being cut off. I'm using the latest DVD2SVCD, default settings, and trying to encode anime on an episode by episode basis (basically, encoding only 6 chapters out of 18 or 24 at a time).

    Thanks!

  2. Yeah, I've had trouble with the DVD2SVCD subtitles as well (excellent program other wise). I've been using the VobSub filter in VDub (has never failed me) and frameserving to either TMPGenc or CCE.

Note - ripping anime DVD to x(S)VCD is fairly hard. Most titles (esp new ones) are a mix of 23.976fps, 30fps and 60 fields/s (eg. Cowboy Bebop and Gasaraki). Plus most anime has been telecined in 'some unknown odd format' that's fairly resistant to most IVTC process (often need to run IVTC and deterlace).

    There's some good info at:

about this. Although I think this guy has a few/lot of uncessary steps it does work.
