I have several MP3 files that I would like to compile to a CD. However, as is the case with DVDs, each of the MP3's seem to have a different volume level. It would be extremely irritating for each of the songs to skip in volume level while listening. I would like to have all the songs on the DVD be about the same volume level. How can I burn the DVD or re-encode the MP3's so that they all have an approximate consistant volume level>

  2. Try MP3Gain to normalize them. It apply variable gains to mp3 files directly, with no need of decode and reencode.
It's good if you plan to play them in a DVD player. To listen them in a PC, I suggest you using a DSP filter for winamp.

I usually use dbPowerAmp (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/) tool, its free. But the problem is, it reencodes all the files.

If you use Nero Express, it has an option to normalize audio files (after all files have been added for burning). If you look, it's in the bottom right of the window - after checking this box, it will take a few extra minutes to normalize the files, then automatically begin burning.
